Definition of nursing
Nursing is the collaborative care of individuals of all age, group, families, communities, sick or well and on all stage. Nursing deals with the welfare of health,physique, prevention of sickness, caring of people having disease or physical disability or illness or dying persons. It is the profession where one should serve a ill person so that they may attain required health care and maintain optimal health and quality of life.

Eligibility criteria
This branch of study offers different courses: diploma, undergraduate, post graduate. The general eligibility for opting B.Sc nursing course is 10+2 with physic, chemistry and biology as combination subjects. Eligibility criteria for General Nursing $ Midwifery (GNM) is also 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Courses of Nursing
1. General Nursing $ Midwifery: this course aids in preparing nurses who can control emergency first level situations in the hospital and in other such medical places.
2. B.Sc Nursing; this is the introductory course in nursing. This course teaches about a;; the preliminary knowledge a nurse should posses like first aid treatment, midwifery etc. This course provide both theoretical and practical knowledge of nursing.
3. Auxiliary Nurse Midwife and Health Workers (ANMHW) : this course trains the pupils to gain knowledge of treatment for the people living in the remote rural places , especially, mothers,  children and of old folk.
4. Diploma in Nursing: basic eligibility for this course is class 10th or equivalent.
5. M.Sc in Nursing: this course is for the further studies in Nursing and preferably for them those who want to enter into the teaching profession.
